Water Tower

Vukovar Water tower, 50 meters high and with volume of 2200 cubic meters of water, was bulit in the late 60's in the city park and excursion site called "Najpar-bašći" at the entrance to Vukovar's district Mitnica. According to the volume and size it was one of the largest facilities of this type in Europe.
Until the war, on the top of the Water tower there was a restaurant with an outlookiong point on Vukovar, Dunav and surrounding wineyards.
During the Srebian agression on Vukovar, the Water tower was one of the most frequent target of enimy artillery that made it more then 600 demages, and today it reperesnts a symbol of victory and new life.
The Water tower will not be renewed in its original function, but it will become the Memorial area which will be a reminder of pain and suffering that Vukovar endured.
