The Old Water Tower
This was built in 1913 on the site of the old marketplace and is one of the oldest water towers in Croatia. It was constructed by the engineers J. Funtak and Karlovsky who based their work on the blueprint drawn up by J. Banheyer. Beneath the water tower, there is a well and an underground water-tank, with an additional reservoir located on top of the tower. The old water tower is one of the most prominent features of old Vukovar. Today it holds a central position on the main square, right in front of the Dunav Hotel and the Town Hall.
