Vukovar Advent Festivities

Held during the four weeks of Advent, these festivities include concerts and performances staged in the traditional manner. Each Sunday of Advent, a candle is lit on the Advent wreath. Advent Festivities start with the lighting of the first candle, which involves a long procession of lit torches carried by participants through the streets of Vukovar. The procession starts from the Church of St. Philip and Jacob and goes to the gates of the Town Museum and Eltz Castle, where the last carrier of the torch lights the first candle of the Advent wreath.
